Discover Isaan Station Thai Street Food

If you’re craving authentic Thai street food in Los Angeles, Isaan Station Thai Street Food is a must-visit spot. Nestled at 125 N Western Ave Unit 111, Los Angeles, CA 90004, this hidden gem offers a unique taste of Thailand with a vibrant, casual atmosphere perfect for a quick meal or a relaxed outing with friends. Whether you’re a fan of spicy dishes or something milder, there’s something on the menu for everyone.

Isaan Station brings the bold, rich flavors of northeastern Thailand to the city with a diverse menu packed with delicious dishes you won't find everywhere. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of sizzling meats, aromatic herbs, and spicy curries fills the air, instantly setting the mood. The menu is inspired by the flavors and ingredients that are typical of Isaan, a region known for its intense flavors, fresh herbs, and spicy kick.

A great way to start your meal is with their Papaya Salad (Som Tum), a tangy, spicy dish made with shredded green papaya, peanuts, tomatoes, and a zesty lime dressing. The balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy is perfectly executed here, giving you a real taste of Thailand. Pair it with the Sticky Rice-it’s a simple yet essential side dish that complements the spicy elements of many meals on the menu. It’s so perfectly cooked, soft, and sticky, just the way it’s meant to be.

For a hearty meal, try the Grilled Chicken (Gai Yang), marinated with a blend of herbs and spices and grilled to smoky perfection. It’s a popular dish in Thai street food culture, and Isaan Station’s version is a crowd favorite, thanks to its crispy skin and juicy interior. The dish is often served with a tangy dipping sauce and sticky rice, creating the ideal combination of textures and flavors.

Isaan Station also serves up a wide variety of curries, from the milder Yellow Curry to the spicier Red Curry. Each one is packed with rich, deep flavors, thanks to the careful use of fresh ingredients like lemongrass, coconut milk, and Thai basil. If you’re in the mood for something light but satisfying, the Pad Thai is another top pick. It’s perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness, tanginess, and just the right amount of crunch from the peanuts and sprouts.

What makes this place stand out is its authenticity. The chefs bring years of experience to the kitchen, having worked in traditional Thai kitchens where street food reigns supreme. This dedication to real flavors is what keeps people coming back. The dishes here are made fresh to order, and you can truly taste the difference in the quality and authenticity of the food.

The atmosphere at Isaan Station is laid-back and welcoming, with an open kitchen that lets you see the chefs in action. It’s the perfect spot for a casual meal, whether you’re grabbing lunch during the week or enjoying a relaxed dinner on the weekend. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to recommend dishes based on your preferences, whether you like it spicy or mild.

  • I enjoy Thai food very much, and I have tried out many location around L.A. Isaan Station has the best taste of the places I have visited. Everytime I am there, I order the Papaya Salad with crispy pork and the Pad Thai with shrimp, with some steam white rice!!! Delicious. I have also tried some other dishes...and it does not disappoint!! The place is nicely tucked in small shoping center, inside you have a classic Tuk Tuk, some booths for larger groups and more tables on the other side of the restaurant. There is a vibrant flower wall with a neon sign "Isaan Station". The staff is friendly, knowledgeable of the dishes, and very attentive. Prices are moderate (mid - range), but you can expext great quality and taste. Overall a great Thai restaurant nestled in the K Town district. If you are in the area, make sure to check it out. I live in Downey, but dont mind the trip to get some of their delicious food. One things I forgot to mention, not a deal breaker cor me, they do not accept debit or credit cards, you can pay with cash or zelle.

  • Was looking for authentic Lao food but came across Isaan food, next best thing! The pad se ewe was so flavorful and superb. I actually wanted to order another one to go but didn’t want to indulge. The beef jerky appetizer was phenomenal like moms would make. The Jao/dipping sauce that came with it was great to accompanied with sticky rice is awesome. All in all was a satisfying meal. Will definitely be back!

  • I'm Thai, and I can confirm that this is the true taste of what Thai food should be! We had amazing Shrimp Tom Yum, Fermented fish papaya salad, and grilled pork neck. 10/10 The price is not so pricey like other Thai restaurants here. Highly recommended!! Pro tip: Try jasmine rice with soup and stir fry food, and sticky rice with papaya salad, and grilled meat.

  • They can actually make the food very spicy! I love that about this place. I've been to many Thai places and asked them to make it spicy, they fail to deliver. This place is not shy about kicking it up a notch. If you like spicy food, you will be sweating by the end of the meal. The papaya salad is probably my favorite. They are a cash only place BTW.
